1. General Information

Austrian Airlines is Austria’s largest airline and flies to around 130 destinations worldwide. Its route network is especially dense in Central and Eastern Europe with 35 destinations served. Thanks to its favourable geographic location in the heart of Europe, Austrian’s home airport of Vienna is the ideal hub between East and West. With a transit time of only 25 minutes, it is also Europe’s fastest transfer airport. Austrian Airlines is part of the Lufthansa Group, Europe’s largest airline group, and is a member of the Star Alliance, the first global alliance of international airlines.

2. Route network

Austrian Hub Vienna

From the eight departure airports in Germany – Berlin, Cologne, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Leipzig, Munich and Stuttgart – Austrian Airlines offers optimal connections to its entire route network via its Vienna hub. Austrian Airlines flies to more than 50 countries on four continents.

Intercontinental routes

On intercontinental routes served by its completely refitted long-haul fleet (Boeing 767s & 777s), Austrian Airlines offers highly comfortable travel to more than 15 destinations worldwide.

In North America, Austrian Airlines connects its Vienna hub with non-stop flights to New York (JFK) and Newark (EWR), Washington, Chicago, Miami and Toronto (Canada). In Asia, Austrian Airlines flies to Bangkok, Tokyo, Beijing and Shanghai. In addition, Havana, Colombo, Malé, Mauritius and the Seychelles are also on the flight schedule (in part only the winter timetable), so that sun-seekers can top up their tans during the cold winter months.

From October 2018 Austrian Airlines will also fly to Cape Town.

3. On board

Ambience and design with an Austrian touch

Come on board and holiday in Austria! The combination of modern fittings and traditional Austrian elements has a harmonious effect and the bright colours with dark-red touches are
especially soothing.

Long-haul Business Class

Excellent service awaits you as a passenger on board Austrian Business Class. You can sit back and experience an exceptional and enjoyable flight. But don’t just take our word for it – see for yourself!

Just like sleeping in your own bed

The impressive high-tech seat has plenty of room on all sides and converts into a fully flat, almost two-metre-long bed. The innovative air-cushion system enables the seat’s comfort level to be adjusted individually. Your desired seating position – upright, relax or sleep – with the touch of a button. And that’s not all: another touch of a button also starts the integrated massage function. On night flights duvets or cushions can be covered with fresh, white cotton bed linen.

Seating configuration

A clever seating concept ensures that on our Boeing 767s every Business Class passenger has direct access to the aisle. On our Boeing 777s, 80 per cent of passengers have direct aisle access.

Award-winning service from DO & CO

On board, our Flying Chefs put the finishing touches to the sophisticated menus prepared by caterers DO & CO. Every course is plated and served individually. We offer a choice of excellent Austrian and international wines to accompany your meal. In our “coffee house above the clouds", ten typical Austrian specialities, such as ‘Einspänner’ and ‘Melange’, are served.

Lounge access

As an Economy Class or Premium Economy Class passenger you can access the Austrian Business Lounge in Vienna for only 35 euros. You can purchase admission via Austrian web check-in or directly at the lounge welcome desk on your day of departure. If you are a Frequent Traveller, Senator or HON Circle Member, the lounge admission rules are in line with your Miles & More member status.

6. Bonus programme

Miles & More – earn status and award miles

For every flight with Austrian Airlines, another Lufthansa Group airline, a Star Alliance member or a Miles & More airline partner, passengers who participate in the Miles & More frequent flyer programme will be credited with award miles. These miles can then be redeemed as required for award flights, upgrade awards, hotel stays, rental cars, product awards from Lufthansa WorldShop, specific special promotions and much more.

PartnerPlusBenefit – the free bonus programme for companies

With PartnerPlusBenefit, medium-sized companies have the opportunity of earning valuable Benefit points free of charge on business flights taken by their employees. These Benefit points accrue in a company points account and can be redeemed for attractive awards: Benefit free flights, Benefit upgrades, Benefit excess baggage vouchers, Benefit WorldShop product awards or Benefit credits. This means companies can easily optimise their travel costs. In parallel, business travellers continue to earn Miles & More miles for their personal accounts.

As well as the airlines of the Lufthansa Group, many other partner airlines participate in PartnerPlusBenefit.
